"Welcome to the level star icon, the braille + version 1.11, build 22!
Applications Menu.
My first training post will be on the work space application.
I am using the version stated above: 1.11 build 22.
The latest version of at time of post.
But enough of that, let's get started!
THE WORK SPACE
On your icon/braille+, you'll find a number of usefull and entertaining applications.
The first one falls under the usefull catagory.
It is called, the Work Space.
You can access the Work Space, by pressing the number 1 on your telephone keypad.
After pressing 1, you will hear the application start sound, followed by:
"Workspace welcome"
That is the name of the application, and the view you are in.
Then you will hear the first item in the list.
Wich depends if you are using the Icon, or the Braille+.
The icon will say,
"Level star home page," and the braille+ will say: "Icon and braille+ user site."
And then you will hear the number of items in the current view.
The last message you will get is:
"Hold down pound, while pressing left and right to switch views."
There are 4 views in the work space.
The first, is the "Welcome View" wich contains:
Level star home page (Only on Icon,) Braille++ user site (Only on Braille++,) and if your unit came preloaded with 1.1, you will have the audio tutorial.
Note:
If you have run the "Check for software update," utility, you will also find the tutorial for download.
And the audible content folder.
Also if your unit came preloaded with 1.1, it will already be there.
It is not currently posted on check for software updates, but I think it will be soon.
Contact Level Star or The American Printing House for the Blind for more information.
The next view is the "RSS" view.
This view contains your downloaded podcasts, and RSS feed articles.
The next view, is the "Recent Books" view.
This view contains the most recently opened books.
Note:
Books will not show up here unless you have opened them from the bookshelf.
The last view, is the Recent Files view.
This view contains the most recent files that you have opened.
Note:
They will only appear, if you have opened them in file explorer.
You can press select, or OK to launch any item, from any view, and the workspace will launch the required application needed to view the item.
When you are finished with the workspace, simply press cancel, and you will be returned to the applications menu.
That was the "Work Space" applications.
Be expecting the next post, to be on the music player (Number 2 in the applications menu)
Note:
An audio demo of the work space will be posted under the title, "Work space audio."
I hope you learned a lot.
